Weekend Update

Over the past weekend the Toronto Blue Jays came out with two wins and loss to improve their record to 30-29. The Jays punched in 18 runs in 3 games only giving up 13 runs. On Sunday Adam Lind came off the DL and had an impressive return with four hits and 2 home runs. Once again the Jays are starting a new series with the Kansas City Royals. Game one of the series will begin Monday night in Kansas.

Injuries are one of those things we sometimes have no control over, for a team it can be the quickest way to the end of what once may have been considered to be a promising season. Injuries to a key member or members of a team can sometimes be the catalyst to a slump for the team. What might have once been considered to some possibly be a slump can quickly turn into a downward spiral with long term effects on the team. On the flip side when key team members return to the line-up, a much needed boost can quickly be injected to the team’s morale and quickly turn things around. In the long run it’s all about the timing and considering this is only the middle of June, a few guys returning to the line-up here and there could quite easily be a welcome sight for teams that have missed their key players.
